The animation is impressive for it's time, but it hasn't aged very well still. There is some very enjoyable and creative imagery which makes it worth watching, but the story is a bit weak. Some great songs too. Recommended if you're a Burton fan, but not at all his best film.

When skeletons, ghosts, and goblins are out there singing and dancing, you know Tim Burton is responsible, and I mean that in a good way. Watching Jack Skellington ruin christmas is more fun than watching the Grinch do the exact same thing. The film's charachters are crazy, sinister but at the same time enchanting. It's imaginative and haunting songs also make the film work. Tim Burton has created a magical but dark classic, a man whose films never cease to amaze me.

Tim Burton did it this time. This goes beyond his proving his originality. This film is beautifully animatied, the songs are stupendous, and Danny Elfman shows the world what he can really do. Maybe Burton should let people direct his movies for him more often. Really good!
