Summary: The opening scene, a dream sequence prior to the vaudeville routines which follow, is what makes this film famous. In it Keaton plays everyone in a theatre simultaneously (through multiple exposures). He is the band leader, all its members, the dancers on the stage and everyone in the audience. (imdb)

The dream sequence in the beginning is superb. After that it's basic Keaton slapstick with a bit less stuntwork than usual.

It's funny seeing Keaton in a dress and all, but it's way too long a short.

The dream sequence with Buster playing all of the characters was great, but after that the film fell flat. I turned it off after it became clear there was no plot to the film.

if he would have extended the dream scene to the whole short it would have been fabulous. while it may be bogged down because that's not the case it still stands that that was some of the best friggin' editing to exist in 1921. innovative, well, at least expertly done

One of the few shorts that I've seen starring Buster Keaton and 15 of his clones. Creative movie for a silent film and I wonder how they did it back then without the high-tech stuff.
