Intensely honest, at times painfully so. Its look at human nature, at relationships, at the pain of a recently ended relationship and how both partners are attempting to overcome this pain is uncompromising and fascinating, and brought to the screen with such beauty and tranquility. What is the power of Kangwon Province? It certainly isn't healing as the characters expected it to be visiting there to try and recover from the breakup, instead it brings up only further pain and confusion.

This movie tells a story about the kind of people that would normally be under the radar, but you're glad that, if only for a little while, they're in the spotlight.

Hong Sang-hoo once again explores his usual themes utilizing the same visual motifs. As usual, it's fascinating. I'm not sure how enjoyable his films are but I keep watching them anyway.
