One of Nolans Hidden Gems , after all the focus on Batman and Inception this film is a little forgotten but if you like nolans Work this is a must see , and even if you don't its still a top rate film

I was intrigued for a while, but never emotionally invested. By the time the supernatural elements appeared I was bored and annoyed. The more I thought about it, the more angry I was at the story's ridiculousness. If you're gonna make a sci-fi movie, set up the sci-fi at the start; I was in the mindset of watching a 'realistic' movie when halfway through, supernatural elements appeared; off-putting.

Pretty, good at times, but predictable and doesn't really pay off.

A brilliant mystery/thriller that actually gives you a chance to work out whats going on, though you wont until a second viewing and then you'll kick yourself. Also manages to jump between 3 seperate time streams without skipping a beat, the actings top notch and while slightly anachronistic the setting comes off as distinctly victorian. An overlooked classic. See it as soon as you can.

Clever thriller that will keep you guessing.

I just love magic so, so much, and the chance to see another movie about magic in the span of only a couple of months nearly made me weep with joy.

What it lacks in pacing, it makes up for in story construction.

Set in a great time, the end of the 19th century, when anything was possible with the help of Progress and Science, just at the junction between what is real and what isn't. A great tale with interesting twists
