Chaplin had learned to roller skate for a bit while with Fred Karno's troupe, and his athletic ease is a joy to behold. Only Gene Kelly in IT'S ALWAYS FAIR WEATHER comes close.

The restaurant scenes aren't as funny as those at the skating rink - the ridiculous physical comedy and stunts mixed with skilled skating are impressive, even by modern standards. (Available on Netflix.)

Among Chaplin's finest moments from the 1910s. The scenes at the rink are absolutely hilarious.

The first skating scene shows Chaplin's charm with skating. The cap between the first and second skating were pretty lame. The swing door joke was also fun.

Not at all funny, but kind of interesting as abstract art. Unlike Chaplin's features, it's not long enough for Charlie to wear out his welcome
