Summary: A day before registering the marriage with his girlfriend of eight years, Susan (played by Karen Mok), truck driver Hui Shing-leung (Louis Koo) runs over a man in an accident on the Hong Kong-Guangzhou highway near Huizhou. Although he is cleared of any legal liabilities, Hui is nonetheless consumed by his own guilt eventually deciding to drop by the roadside restaurant owned by the dead man, now run by his grieving widow, Lu Yan (Huang Yi), who is pregnant and struggling to make a living.
