The human brain cannot fathom how truly bad this is until it is seen. If I asked a 3rd grader to write and direct a movie with only him and his fellow classmates as the cast, it would have been absolutely 100% better than this film. People say it's hilariously bad. I did laugh, but mostly at how clueless Wiseau is to human life. I can't recommend this to anyone, but I have an insatiable need to talk with someone about this movie.

Staggeringly clueless and inept piece of film-making. Wiseau (apparently suffering from a botched plastic surgery job) has made a gormless and woeful film for the ages, and his entire cast appears to eagerly wish to follow him in to the abyss. Hideous performances compete with a completely incoherent screenplay, which include ample opportunities for unmotivated soft-core porn sequences. Hilariously entertaining at times, therefore impossible to score accurately.

nul point should be reserved for films that have absolutely no merit. This film is very entertaining. As a backlash against those with sub-zero functioning humour receptors, I'm awarding this tragedy the 100 Percent Great Award For Being Great.

How does one even rate something like this? This "film" belongs in a category unto itself that somehow transcends typical badness. It doesn't even look like a movie, and the actors perform as if they had never been to planet earth. But I can't bring myself to give this a 0, because it's just so fucking hilarious. Unintentionally so, but still a riot through and through. I mean, come on, "You are tearing me apart Lisa!" might be the greatest line ever uttered in a movie. Thank you, Mr. Wiseau!

Words cannot describe this film, yet I feel it is my duty to try. This is the worst movie ever made and despite what the summary says, it's not a black comedy. As a terribly and utterly horrifically made drama, it is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Tears of horror and joy streamed down my face at different points during the film. This is most definitely the Citizen Kane of bad movies. It has changed my life forever.

Did you notice how almost every scene ends with a character announcing they have to leave? Talk about lazy writing. Anyways, you don't need me to tell you how bad this movie is, and you definitely don't need me to tell you how entertaining it is as a result. Gloriously incompetent. You couldn't make shit like this on purpose if you tried.

Any movie this gloriously bad has to be cherished for generations.

Why so high? This film is so bad, so delightfully bad, that it had me in stitches. See, the problem with most comedies is that they're trying so very hard to be funny, and therefore fall flat. This, on the other hand, was trying to be serious, and the effort was so completely half-assed, so disproportionate to the attempted seriousness of the film's content (if you can call it that), that the combination of ingredients brewed generated what might be considered one of the funniest films ever made

One of the finest so-bad-it's-good experiences you will have, especially if you see it in theatres. Rated for entertainment value, obviously.

Genuinely utterly inept in every way. Come for the misogyny, stay for the homoerotic subtext. This is required viewing, provided you are drunk and/or with friends. I enjoyed the hell out of this even though it's absolutely terrible. Score is not a grade.

From now on when people ask me what the worst movie I've ever seen is, I need not hesitate because this absolutely takes the prize. Every single aspect of the production is so bad that it seriously makes me question whether Wiseau is mentally deficient.

However, don't let the rating dissuade you from watching it. While it is bad, it is GLORIOUSLY bad and highly entertaining.

The worst film I have ever seen. Especially when you take into account the $6 million price tag ["The Blair Witch Project", it always amuses me to remember, cost $22,000, so money isn't everything, but it certainly helps!] The direction...the script...to call it a script is to over dignify this...profoundly damaging work. You can't say work...it's shit. Worth of less than zero, paradoxical as that is.

It was still hilarious before but seeing "The Room" on the big screen with a rowdy audience is one of the best cinema experiences you could ever hope to have. I spent 100 minutes having spoons and rugby balls flung over my head.

I'd hoped after seeing the 'flower shop' scene that this movie was intentionally bad and thus had some cheeky merit. No. It's awful. It's drama, cheating, sex, throwing a football, horribly bad acting from the star/director/writer/producer Fabio from heck. What a steaming pile of crap this is. I can award it no points.

This movie was good because I sympathized with our protagonist. I too often wondered WHY WHY WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?!

It's a fun watch. His grip on the English language seems...lacking.

Please, God, PLEASE see this movie if you haven't. "The Room" is Tommy Wiseau's on-screen masturbation. The most self-indulgent piece of shit ever put on film. And I'm sorry, so few people buy the "oh no, this was intentional, it's a black comedy" excuse that Wiseau has been peddling lo these many years, it's really not even an option. It's just the worst fucking movie ever made, plain and simple. The acting, direction, EVERYTHING in this movie is just horrid. BUT. It's fucking hilarious, man.

It deserves a 0 for being literally the worst movie ever made, yet it also deserves a 100 for being the most hilarious movie ever made (whether it was intentional or not). So I'm giving it a 50. I will say, however, that you MUST watch it with friends. It is beyond hysterical. I have never laughed so hard in my life.

This is a film that tears apart critical analysis. I love it -- yet because it's so bad. See, it defers numeral representation. Should I give it a high score? Or is it the low score that is alluring to me? Let's subside the argument and give it a nice 50 -- though the film is anything but mediocre.

I don't know man. Tommy's anesthetized performance. The manner in which the mother definetly let's us know she has breast cancer. The english as a second language dialogue. The complete plagiarism of the Citizen Kane self distruction scene. Denny's lack of an extended sex scene. The multiple extended sex scenes. The random guy at the party who has a lot of groundless yet crucial advice to offer. The constant golden gate bridge/Alcatraz cutaways. Damn it Wiseau.

Easily one of the worst films ever made. Granted it's hilarious but only because it's so bloody terrible. I swear Tommy Wiseau has such an alien understanding of human emotion and human interaction he must be autistic. If viewed in that sense The Room may in fact be a masterpiece of personal art therapy through rooftop conversation and repeated tossing of a football. Regardless, as a film, it's absolutely abysmal.

I can't give this a good rating, but I can't give it a zero because only Night of the Living Dead 3D fills me with the sufficient pure murderous hatred for my fellow man that deserves a zero. So, one.

It's so bad and clumsy in everything it does that I just couldn't stop laughing. I'm not even completely convinced it wasn't intentional.

I cannot stress this enough: do not watch this movie sober and alone. The insane dialogue and editing will make your brain hurt and you will feel a deep, deep sense of shame as each sex scene awkwardly lingers while bad 90s R&B drones in the background. But if you watch with company or with the help of controlled substances (preferably both), the film's delirious ineptitude will be an endless source of amusement.

There are only three plausible scores for this film: 0, 100, or perhaps 50 to average the two extremes. Each ought to connote great affection. Leave your stupid comments in your pocket!

There's "so bad it's good", and then there's "so bad it's amazing". I found my body producing entirely new kinds of laughter. Writer/director/star Tommy Wiseau is some kind of mad, narcissistic, vaguely European genius. Giving this a rating seems meaningless in this case... it's a blatantly awful movie, but I did enjoy it (albeit ironically).

This movie is absolutely fantastic in just about every way possible. The fact that one man, Sir Tommy Wiseau, managed to write, direct and then star in this masterpiece says much about the enormous talent and savvy this man possesses. This is a latter-day Citizen Kane that should have effectively changed the face of film-making forever, the only reason it didn't is because those who watched it were too scared of the impact this movie could've had, so it remains a lost gem. OH HI MARK!

Oh, hi Criticker. Okay so, this movie is awful but the 1 is misleading. I can't give it a high mark but with that said, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND SEEING THIS MOVIE! You are my favourite customer! God this was a funny movie but like one person said, it can be boring at times. Still better than The Anarchist Cookbook.
