Although it contains numerous sequences without dialogue, this film and its characters seemed anything but static. This is the third Rivette I have had the pleasure of seeing ("La Belle Noiseuse" and "Va savoir" being the other two), and all three were great, and greatly different. WIthout saying anything about the narrative, in my view the final conclusion was clever, fascinating and beautiful. Also, a great performance by the cat!
