For a long time, I've wanted to be Greta Garbo. Watching this movie cured me of that desire, not by making Garbo unattractive, but by making her so radiant that she destroys everything around her. I can see why men might give up their lives & nations for her. The movie has lots of problems, but Garbo's beauty transcends it all. Nibo is an excellent director and the music is charming and at times hilarious (such as during the whip fight).
