I've always thought the Transformers were retarded. The movie is even more retarded.

Another childhood favorite that I only barely remember. Until I watch it again, I'm giving it a generic score of 75.

Nostolgic, I loved watching this, classic.

Without a shadow of a doubt, this is my FAVORITE animated film of all time. The first TF movie is huge. Not to mention what ensues in this film changed the original series forever, but made us cry as children, and still brings tears to our eyes as adults. From the stellar Heavy Metal soundtrack, and Weird Al!, to Vince DiCola's brilliant score, and the top notch animation, and stellar voice casting, as well as the character's swearing. They really don't make 'em like this anymore and that sucks.

I think I will always have a higher regard for this movie than I do for anything Michael Bay cranks out. However, I wish there was some more focus on some of the older characters than the new cast in this one and that the ones "bowing out" had more emotionally effective exits. I realize this was all marketing - discontinuing some toys, introducing new ones, etc. The prominence of the soundtrack within the movie surprised me. At times, I found it distracting.

This was marred by poor animation and a mediocre plot but it had the voice of Orson fuckin' Welles as Unicron and Leonard Nimoy as Galvatron which automatically kicks the score up a good 5 points above what it should be. It's a pretty underrated little gem.

God, I love this film. This film is my childhood, and it will always hold a place in my heart, but as I get older I view it in other ways, too. It may be very cheesy, but it is so in an almost satirical way. Like it's parodying itself. You can tell the writers wanted to be more adult, perhaps more like anime and less like a cartoon. This is evident in the ridiculous amount of beloved characters dying. It has pretty good voice acting and a fantastic soundtrack, too. Love it.
