Val "If you squint I kind of look like Mickey Rourke" Kilmer shows up at a small-town police station and says he wants to confess to several murders. Once he starts, things start getting very creepy indeed... well, that's the idea. Unfortunately you can pretty much guess the plot 5 minutes in, and since all of the characters are equally dull and unlikable, all that remains is a very long wait interspersed with graphic, drawn-out, sadistic murder scenes in slow-motion. Dull, dull, dull.

Some filthy liar told me this was a decent movie with a good Kilmer performance. The opening looked semi promising but shows its poorly delivered lines by Fat Kilmer 15 minutes in. The script slid off the top reject pile at some studio. It also involves a ghostly slasher who is a fan of classical music uttering lines such as "the darkness is coming for you!" while killing dumb cops. Seriously that's the plot. Kilmer looks like he's in it for the paycheck. The rock/horror score sucks too.

The classic vengeful ghost story slightly updated, and with a surprising amount of gore. I'm a huge fan of ghost stories; your mileage may vary.
