Summary: Is Henry Kissinger -- Nobel Laureate and the most famous diplomat of his generation -- also a war criminal? Provoked by the Christopher Hitchens's book, filmmakers Jarecki and Gibney have constructed a movie which is both brilliant legal brief and chilling psychodrama. (Film Forum)

A good reminder of what an asshole Kissinger is, and how murderous American foreign policy is at its worst. I found it particularly relieving to watch this when I had to read one of Kissinger's books for an exam. It is a problem that the documentary aims to discredit him in every way possible, putting comparatively trivial personal flaws alongside his very serious war crimes, violations of international law, and support for genocide. This is very unneccessary and damages the film's credibility.

There's some irony in Christopher Hitchens being the central plank in this attack on Kissinger for pompously pursuing fame via the endorsement of illegal wars.

Certainly very scathing but I must say it seems to put all the blame on Kissinger personally and not the system that allows such things to happen. Eugene Jarecki has acknowledged this and his next documentary Why We Fight addresses this. Now, with that said, this is still a very good documentary. It raises very scathing questions and calls for justice.
