Okay documentary, but I liked watching the bonus interviews with the many diffrent famous interveiwees on topics relating to war and free-speech.

Feels like an E! True Hollywood Story, with the sentimentality and talking heads commentators. Almost shamefully superficial.

Fairly timid documentary is helped out by the hard to fuck up subject matter, and some excellent interviews.

This is a good movie. Although it doesn't cover a lot of ground that I haven't heard or seen before. I would recommend this movie to all John Lennon/Beatle fans.

A lot of it is fairly redundant to any fans of Lennon, but what's really impressive is who they got for interviews.

What seems like a very small portion of the film is spent detailing the actual deportation proceedings against Lennon. The exploration of his political views is interesting, though, and the interviewees were mostly well chosen. Gore Vidal is a delight.

The visual presentation isn't very strong and most of the target audience would probably already know a fair amount about what's explained in the film. But there's still some great footage of Lennon and Ono and of course the soundtrack's great. It's certainly worthwhile.

Pretty solid documentary work, nothing too revolutionary though. I think pretty much everyone knows John Lennon is a remarkble human being and a legend,...and our government sucks. That's basically the subject of any documentary these days, our government sucks, sucks now, sucked in the 60's and 70's, sucked in black and white times, will continue sucking....ect, ect, ect..

An interesting documentary that deserved more attention. If you're a Beatles/Lennon fan, you'll love the soundtrack.
