Summary: A romantically challenged morning show producer (Heigl) is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her chauvinistic correspondent (Butler) to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love. His clever ploys, however, lead to an unexpected result.
This movie is complete obvious. You know what will hapen from the first second on. Also you're expecting Gerard Butler any second to scream THIS IS SPARTA. But anyway it's a good movie :)
"The Ugly Truth is proof that when dealing with such movies, oftentimes the only thing separating the complete trash from the sort-of-trash is the actors." - Matt Noller
A successful local television producer (Heigl) is unable to succeed in a romantic relationship. Her newest TV talk show star (butler), teaches her the "ugly truth" about men and woman. His proven crude theories result in an unforeseen twist of love.
Nothing worse than a vapid rom-com that *thinks* it's edgy and insightful. I wanted to punch everyone in the face for different reasons, and I laughed maybe three times. And I know it's kind of the point, but there is no way on God's mostly-blue earth Mike Chadway's show would even make it on air, let alone be as popular as it gets.
Katherine Heigl, if you really care about the issue of sexism enough to accused Knocked Up of being so, then a movie like this that is based entirely around the concept of your eventual romantic interest's backwards, piggish, demeaning and, yes, sexist beliefs being reaffirmed as truth is NOT the kind of movie you should be starring in. And that's on TOP of the fact that its levels of unfunny are cancerous.
