Summary: The founder and owner of a cosmetic factory, Janice Starlin (Susan Cabot), is concerned with the dropping sale results of her company. The scientist Eric Zinthrop (Michael Mark) offers to her his research with wasp enzymes that makes animals younger, and she immediately accepts to hire him, provided she becomes his human subject. Lesser Corman... not bad, but not very memorable, either.

Well, you can call it male intuition if you like but it could have used some more buxom broads showing off their new young bodies, but that's a minor quibble. Overall it's an understated script with an understated cast with an overstated monster. Somewhat refreshing with Susan Cabot being a sympathetic monster and a mad scientist who truly just wants to help. [Cinematic Titanic shows that they still have their chops when given well aged Corman meatiness. One of their best.]

Less fun than some similar creature movies, it is only saved by the acting (surprisingly good for a film like this) and some decent ideas such as the aging beauty queen who will try anything to remain young and beautiful. As I said, decent ideas, not revolutionary. Overall it's too long and slow to be really enjoyable.

Awful soundtrack, stupid plot. The costume and cat attack are a joke. And this movie is about wasps. What I don't understand is why they used in-between stock footage of bees.......

One of the first from soon to become king of B-movie land, Roger Corman. It oozes with lower quality , which is usually not a real problem but because this film is so old it becomes a serious one. Everything from the acting, the effects, the scripting is awful. A monkey could have done it better ( it would have to be a monkey from 2011 tho, not from the fifties) ... And the fact that its black an white... only for the die hard fans of the genre or the director.

Silly old creature feature (the "monster" is just Susan Cabot wearing a bad costume) with a bunch of plot holes, inconsistencies, few ideas stretched out to its 70 minute runtime, and some brutally slow pacing, especially during the beginning and middle portions. However, it is an amusing premise (a former beauty queen/cosmetics owner obsessed with youth and beauty), and the acting is decent. Oh, and it has the worst music/score of any film I might have seen. Bad, but not horrifically so. [ Full Review]

There doesn't seem to be a lot of people who liked this movie, but I thought it was pretty good. The idea of this scientist helping a cosmetic company owner return her youthful looks is interesting and then she turns into a wasp. She sort of resembles the fly, though. I liked this movie, and would suggest taking a look.

Almost entirely horrible and boring, but there are a handful of hilarious bits (the cat attack) that are worth seeing.
