A lot of fun for the most part, although it did bog down a bit in the second half, as it tried to get all meaningful or something (like its near-namesake The Wild One). A very good-looking movie (Corman in color, no less!), with many pretty and/or arresting scenes (no pun intended). Not too surprisingly, Dern and Pollard looked right at home here, but Ladd and Nancy S were also quite good. The editing sometimes was a little ragged...but maybe they lacked coverage (or else it was just the 60s)...

B-movie king Roger Corman wanted to make a biker picture. And that's what he made, without a whit of insight, inspiration or lingering sense of purpose. The other 1966 films Corman is credited with producing are Blood Bath, Queen of Blood and The Navy Vs. The Night Monsters, which probably tells you everything you need to know about the level of ambition brought to this project.

This was better than I expected it to be. There is an interesting story, themes, ideas, and the acting is good, it even looks like they had a good amount of money to make the movie. Of course it does also have some long senes of the gang just hanging around having a good time, which can get boring after a while, if they had cut down on some of those scenes, it would have been better, but still this is a good movie about the hell's angels motorcycle gang in the 60s.
