Summary: Mole's underground home is bought by the Weasels from wealthy landowner Mr.Toad and Mole is thrown out. He and Rat start to fight to get his home back from evil Weasels. (imdb)
On paper it sounds great. Terry Jones and much of the Python crew get together for an adaptation of a classic of English Children's literature. A noble effort, but somehow the result just doesn't quite gel.
Plays fast and loose with Ken Grahame in some ways, as you might expect from Terry Jones. . . but this mainly charming little gem did not get a fair release. Love the whole cast, the look, the gentle jokes. Watch this in the early spring, and watch Disney's ADVENTURES OF ICHABOD AND MR. TOAD in mid-October. It's a nice way to shape your year.
Great little version of the classic tail. Catchy music, great acting, and a wonderful enviroment. The film is funny, and should be suitable for all kids. Also, it stars basically all the Pythons! That's already a plus. People tend to over look this film or even hate it, but it needs rewatching and reconsidering because it's fun.
