Summary: An American writer moves to Paris to be closer to his daughter and finds himself falling immediately on hard times. A strange one this, a sort of arty psychological thriller/mystery. Hawke kind of grew on me, it turns out he has the perfect combination of vulnerability and menace for this role. It's got a strong atmosphere and absolutely terrific photography, but somehow failed to really speak to me (and I love things like this).
