Hilarious. I watched this by myself and still laughed. The film stays solidly in spoof territory yet is still able to construct fairly consistent and well thought-out characters. I was laughing just as much at Foley's character as I was at the Hitchcock satire.

This movie wasn't laugh-out-loud funny most of the time, but it was still amusing. If I had to blame anyone, it would be the director... I felt like I got what they were doing, but half the time it worked well (like with basically every scene the real killer was in) and half the time it didn't (like with the greedy cop joke they ran into the ground). I adored the Saul Bass-like opening credits, though, and the film was worth watching just for the Kennedy joke and because I like Foley.

Foley's acting abilities are better suited to sketch comedy and not the big screen; he looks totally lost in a few scenes. A couple of jokes fall completely flat as well, but this is mostly pretty darn funny. Jennifer Tilly is beautiful and has great comedic timing.

Don't get me wrong, this movie was cheese...but not the smelly goat kind that leaves your mouth tasting like a dirty washcloth. Foley is bearable, Tilly is adorable, and the whole reverse take on the wrongly accused man was enough to hold my attention for the 100 minute running time. Worth the price of admission.

I think, ultimately, your enjoyment of this film relies on whether or not you find Dave Foley's style of comedy funny. I do and, as such, I found this movie to be quite entertaining. The supporting cast, Jennifer Tilly and Colm Feore, are both great characters. Plus it does have a very Hitcockian feel to it, which was very impressive because it doesn't come off as being cheesy.

With the spoof genre in a spiraling state of disarray (Friedberg and Seltzer, I'm lookin' at you), these days you've got to take what you can get, and this Hitchcockian comedy packs a fair amount of real hearty laughs. Colm Feore is very funny as an assassin on the run, and Foley is veritably hilarious as the man who thinks he's wrongfully wanted for the crimes. The movie isn't particularly memorable, but it's more than funny enough to earn a recommendation.

I like Dave Foley but was expecting a dull comedy using the tired "wrong man" device (Even when Hitch does it it doesn't interest me) so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it's actually a rather clever spoof with a ton of great moments scattered about. Still uses overexposed comedic devices and plenty of gags fall flat but other than that, this is a very recommendable flick to any Kids in the Hall fan.

Great music to help pull off the oddly Hitchcockian vibe, and no matter how dumb it got I kept laughing. Dave Foley is still just playing a Canadian Mr. Bean though, which is funny enough but I doubt I'll remember even a moment of this movie in a year. I'm starting to think Jennifer Tilly has some actual chops; hers was a finely nuanced performance in a movie that really needed at least one.
