Actually pretty good, I didn't quite expect as much. Burt Lancaster does a great job of playing a conflicted DA in this film. It isn't the best crime drama, but I found it interesting because of its takes on things such as the death penalty, human nature, racism, and how one is affected by where they grow up. The crime part is rather ordinary, but Frankenheimer's depth is what elevates this film.
