Summary: In the early part of the 21st Century, an unknown virus began spreading among the populous. Within weeks it had engulfed the entire planet, from the smallest rural communities to the greatest cities. Upon the death of its host, the virus would reanimate the corpse until it was no longer able to support itself. Soon, the planet was infested with a new threat - the undead. Somewhere between the not-as-clever-as-it-thinks Diary of the Dead and this, there should be a reasonably realistic and good zombie movie waiting to be made. This, however, is not it.

Poorly paced and structured with shallow unlikeable characters. While I really am a fan of the old fashioned slow moving shuffling zombies, the way small numbers of them manage to make it up to attack oblivious characters in the wide open countryside is laughable. There are a couple of good ideas in there but the film as a whole simply cant hold your attention let alone entertain.

Very disappointing. It started off well enough creating a good deal of tension, but after the second diary, it all went downhill from there. It became too silly and boring and even though there was a moment or two of tension in the rest of the film, it fails to capitalize on that.

It wasn't meant to be a Blockbuster, but the film itself is gritty and really does transport you to the infected countryside. It does change course 90 degrees and leaves you wondering why.
