Halle Berry is great and the movie has a lot of important moments from the book but it feels like far too much is cut out. This would've felt far more complete as a mini-series than a one off TV film.

This film really made me notice Halle Berry as an outstanding actor. The film is such a beautiful story of Janie Starks and her journey to discover herself and who she really is. The storyline has so many beautiful and also some sad moments but it's a great journey to go on. Halle Berry is the obvious stand-out and has portrayed Janie very well. The story's message of finding out about love and living is delivered so well and so clearly as well. A must-see and a film I just love :D
