The plot was comparable with an afternoon weepie but the acting,(Del Toro as always is mesmerising) and direction fortunately took it to another level, and it became a truthful acount of dealing with loss.

I've been putting this off for about two years, mostly because it seemed to be a melodramatic film. Don't get me wrong, it is partially just that, but it works. BTW, another great performance by Benicio Del Toro.

Not nearly as bad as it could have been, thanks largely to Del Toro's performance, impeccable cinematography, and slightly more self-awareness than a film like this has any right to have. Like a watered-down 21 Grams, pretty much.

While not the most exciting of films it certainly portrays the acting talents of both Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro as well as having a solid storyline of how the death of a man called Brian has affected his wife Audrey and his best friend Jerry. Its interesting watching Audrey and Jerry come together, who didn't originally get along anyway. It also touches upon serious issues like drugs and the harm they can cause. Overall a decent film, not outstanding by any means, but worth a look.

Benicio Del Toro gives an excellent performance in this film. His performance makes the average story line better. Overall this is an interesting film about loss and addiction.

This is a powerfully emotional movie (Benicio can't seem to resist these films). The acting is pretty good and the way the filming emphasizes the pain of the characters made this film memorable.

Benicio is very good in here; reason to see it. The editing and the story goes hand in hand nicely for the first part of the movie. But closer to the end director became more sentimental and made some easy choises and did not close the movie as gracely as she started. BTW, Del Toro was listening to at least two different Frank Zappa songs.

A movie worth watching for one Benicio Del Toro's performance whose character of a drug addict trying to help a dead friend's wife played by Halle Berry seems so real...go watch it if you haven't yet.

Worth watching - if only for Benicio Del Toro who never fails to be good.

Heartbreaking. Gut-wrenching. Not always easy to follow or always believable but, over-all, a good movie that I'm sorry so many people missed. Halle Berry did gave a fine performance. David Duchovony did as well but, not as surprisingly because it's not anything terribly new for him. Benicio Del Toro? Always brilliant. I don't know for a fact, but I suspect, that young Micah Berry is related to Halle. She's got a bright future. She had some truly real moments. This is worth the rental...

Benício del Toro is fabulous in his drug addict performance. Suffering about losing the husband, father and friend.

Del Toro doing his thing does not save this movie. The director does nothing with characters or story that is of any interest, it just sits on the same spot. On the plus side, Berry seems to have learned some acting recently.

really solid acting going on in this movie. i think it s worth watching for performances, even though not a good movie overall.. benicio del toro is my man.

If the title was turned into a question the answer would be......"a script". thumbs down.

This film starts out slowly but stick with it--the second half really picks up and you eventually develop feelings for each of the characters. The disjointed timeline is annoying to be sure, but (not coincidentally) the better second half of the film does away with this unnecessary gimmick.

a weird writing and weirder directing job. and not necessarily in a good way. but it still has its powerful and touching moments. berry is ok. del toro is great, as usual...
