The slight documentary Thorvaldsen might amount only to an appetizer in regards to the understanding of the work and achievements of the titular sculptor, but Dreyer's committal of his extra-curricular interest to film might be one of the most artfully shot, satisfyingly complex mini-docs of its time. The result is equally intriguing and aesthetically compelling, though a more extensive study seems warranted.

Well made. I'm not particularly into sculpture, and it's only about a twelve minute... I want to say documentary but there's not enough information in it to be called that. Don't know what the purpose of this short is... probably a little movie made for Danish TV.

Some of the shots of statues are really nice but I didn't find any of it particularly interesting. Maybe if I had heard of Thorvaldsen before my feelings would be different.
