A bit slower and disconnected than expected for a film of this calibre. Too bad.

As a 3k fanboy, I wish I could enjoy this movie, however it's far too flawed for me to rate highly. First off it's historically inaccurate which makes its inability to connect itself properly even more confusing. secondly, the actions scenes were okay but suffered far too often from shaky cam syndrome. Thirdly, the movie suffers from far too much unresolved, redundant and shallow melodrama which totally breaks the mood more often than it should. Overall, not a very good movie.

Generally it feels like a pretty uninspired movie, mostly due to clumsy way the story is presented. The actions scenes are OK but nothing incredible or new, really it feels like a mesh of wire-fu and the shakey-cam/rapid-edit style that seems to be sweeping the globe. There are plenty of overly melodrama points in the film which really ruin the epic mood. While there are some glorious shots in the film they can hardly make it a entertaining watch.
