Summary: Three hip, Little Pigs are travelling entertainers, moving from straw to wood, to brick nightclubs, playing swinging tunes for high-class, "with it" crowds, but an uncool Big Bad Wolf keeps intruding on their act with with his "corny horn" and uses it to blow their nightclubs down when they throw him out- until they are playing in their brick club and the Wolf tries a more drastic, explosive method for destroying the "House of Bricks". The fun thing about this short is how it unintentionally serves as a time capsule to show modern audiences what type of entertainment was popular in the 50's. It's accurate--you can see the exact same type of music and dancing in the Poitier vehicle "Edge of the City", but surprisingly few of today's viewers have any clue how "in" you were if you played or danced to Be Bop and how "square" you were if you didn't. The fairy tale link just adds to the fun of this Freleng short. Recommended.

Some seriously swinging music highlights this fun and jazzy update to the classic Three Little Pigs story. An amazingly memorable cartoon considering it didn't contain any of the established Looney Toons characters.

Probably my all time favorite Looney Tunes cartoon, this is definitely Friz Freleng's finest hour at WB. It's a perfect marriage of animation, fairy tale, music and social context. In another 50 years, this will still be an engaging example of artistic, cutting edge cartoon making.
