Summary: A boy from the island of Hokkaido, Japan gets a butterfly Nagasaki. His teacher thinks he bought the insect in a department store. Meanwhile, a butterfly larva of the same species embarks on a journey from South to North. On this trip the larva appears a series of failed love affairs, traumatic memories of war, smuggling operations and a share of political corruption.
