From a script and production point of view it's an average programmer, but Claudette Colbert put on a fantastic performance making it a worth wild tearjerker. She' a women who gives birth to a baby out of wedlock and must put the little girl up for adoption and struggle on alone. She becomes a notorious club singer and after a while the longing for her kid creeps in. The ending is a little too Hollywood, but it does the trick anyhow thanks to Colbert living the part.
