It plays like a terrible omnibus film, except the badness is amplified by the fact that it's the same director making a variation on the same boring, minimalist scene each time. Ugh. The motif of windows and doors may have been interesting, but I really could not muster up the will to care amid all my distaste for this film.

Akerman is very skilled at making the viewer care about characters with very, very little to go on. No backstory, no context, only what look like pivotal moments from pieces of different plotlines. Certain motifs are repeated... characters rushing out a cafe, climbing up stairs, battling insomnia, chasing each other down a street. But there isn't a Kieslowski-esque moment that ties them together on a cosmic level. Although my interest waned a bit towards the end, it's an intriguing experiment.
