Summary: The sequel to the landmark 1995 computer-animated blockbuster from Disney and Pixar. This time around, the fun and adventure continue when Andy goes off to cowboy camp and the toys are left to their own devices. Things shift into high gear when an obsessive toy collector kidnaps Woody -- who hasn't the slightest clue that he's a greatly valued collectible. (Disney/Pixar)
As sequels go this isn't bad. Good characterisations with personalities like old friends from the first outing - yet strong enough to stand alone as a film. Some strong humour for children and adults alike and guaranteed to keep the kids amused.
Such an impressive sequel that managed to suceed the first thanks to having more action, new characters and more locations for the characters to explore. Woody and Buzz are obviously back and this time its a rescue mission as Woddy is kidnapped. Jessie and Bullsye are welcome additions to the film, plus new villains like Al (from Al's Toy Barn) and Evil Emperor Zurg are also great for the film. An improvement on the first and a film not to be missed by any child, and bring on the third I say!
Very good follow up to the first film but it's just not quite as good. I enjoyed the first half a lot but the second half didn't wow me as much as the first film's did. It was great, just not as great. I must say that the part where Jessie sings that song about Emily growing up and forgetting her is amazing. It's so sad and beautiful. Anyway, Excellent movie that just falls short of the even more excellent first film.
It pretty much does everything that its supposed to: it entertains us. There are some real bad sequel-forged lines that really ticked me off and Joan Cusack was the absolute most horrible casting choice ever. Yet, it is great, and its nice to see more than just the 2 main characters getting all the screentime. Hamm's cracks are the best, but I definitely would have liked to see more of the Army guys. Overall great, but not close to the original.
The natural progression from the first to the second movie is great. Everyone returns and gives a great performance and the new additions don't feel tacked on like I feared they would. I still enjoyed the first Toy Story's plot a tad bit more, but this movie is still a very fun and very heartfelt romp.
