Hehe... so awful it's great.

Starts out with some interesting concepts and visuals, but kind of falls apart at the end. I used to watch this movie all the time as a kid.

The toy onslaught is hysterical!

Deeply flawed in many ways but very memorable in others. I feel like the main plot of love and war actually gets in the way of whats best about the movie.

Bearly watchable.

Has some neat sets and props. The rest is bad.

Too quirky for its own good. I like films that create their own world, but this one isn't all that good.

I appreciate the surrealism, but this is just not a good movie. Its biggest problem is that its message is completely trivialized by the absurdity of the premise. A couple cute and/or funny moments but nothing to write home about, and sometimes almost embarrassing to watch due to its awkwardness.

Nonsensical. That's not a slight. It's meant to be nonsensical. If you want a silly movie, this can fill that need. However do not expect a deep story.

Totally friggin' bizarre and surreal.

A well fitting cast. It was a wierd alternate univers kind of trip. I enjoyed it. The plot was kinda dumb but some of the visuals were neat as was the scenery.

I've never been a fan of Barry Levinson, and this film is an example why; he is fond of presenting the dumbest, most insipid messages ("make toys, not weapons!") in a purely melodramatic way, to appeal to the emotions of younger/more naive viewers. I've never bought into it myself, and in "Toys", it's impossible to, since the plot is riddled with holes. Furthermore, we have a protagonist in Robin Williams who is no more sympathetic nor sane than his "evil" uncle. Awful, insultingly stupid dreck.
