"Nicolas Roeg and Dennis Potter are both overpowering personalities and auteurs, making a successful collaboration a dubious but fascinating enterprise. And indeed, there is some pulling in several directions, with Roeg dominating the show, yet taking Potter's introspective weaving of fears, thoughts and hallucinations over-the-top into stylistic madness, and then suddenly allowing Potter to peek through in a musical number that gladdens the heart of the insane."

There are a lot of good things that can be said about this film; I find it hard not to love everything Dennis Potter wrote. Yet I didn't feel very much about this movie at all.
