A fun concept: a guy gets stuck in a tree when he is chased by thugs, and stays there the entire movie. It simply gets some points just for that idea alone. Too bad the characters and their interpersonal drama wasn't that gripping or believable, and the soundtrack is pretty distracting. Despite all its flaws, it's still a pretty decent watch if you enjoy films that focus on one small location.

An Afterschool Special that teaches us we are all just as close-minded as the guy next to us, or in this case, as close-minded as the rock-catching, chain-whipping, belt-lynching, crack-smoking guy chilling up in a sycamore tree with a $900 (Canadian) briefcase. I was just waiting for one of the kids to raise his fist and scream 'I learned it by watching you!' 70 points to the writer/director for convincing the executive producers to put up the money to make a film about a dude in a tree.

These concept films which take place entirely in one location tend to either be total flops, or quite excellent. This is one of the latter. There is conflict written into every page of the script, and the dialogue explores every possible avenue with logic and wit. David Hewlett is a great actor and it's thanks to him that a film where he is stuck up a tree can be so satisfying and rewarding to watch.
