Summary: Eddie Weinbauer is a typical All-American teenager, at least he was until he fell under the evil spell of Rock Music. Now he's obsessed with his heavy-metal superstar idol, Sammi Curr, who is killed in a hotel fire... (imdb)

C'mon what is there to say about this movie? It's pretty much a must-see for any metalhead, however a quality movie it is not. The music and the rock-star cameos are what make this movie awesome in it's own way. However I would place in the "so hilariously bad it's kinda fun" categori. Not to be taken seriously at all.

Silly heavy metal horror. Good FX but otherwise terribly flat and reactionary with far too many _Nightmare on Elm Street_-like elements. Actor-director Smith has a cameo as the high school principal.

Skippy from Family Ties plays the only metalhead in his high school, who gets regularly abused by the jocks. When his metal hero Sammi Curr dies in a mysterious fire, Skippy starts hearing backwards messages about revenge murders on his albums. Ultra cheesy stuff, with over the top Satanic posturing and corny occultism, a lot of this comes across like a bad hair metal video, like it was a horror movie designed to frighten suburban soccer moms. A hilarious little time capsule of the mid 1980s.

A great flashback to the 80's, when the sacred PMRC was going to save us from that atrocious devil music the kids listen to. Today, ok the movie sucks but I still like the soundtrack though.
