Summary: After an accident in the mysterious lab of maniacal scientist Dr. Simon Barsinister, an ordinary beagle unexpectedly finds himself with unimaginable powers and the ability to speak. Armed with a fetching superhero costume, Underdog vows to protect the beleaguered citizens of Capitol City and, in particular, one beautiful spaniel named Polly Purebread. When a sinister plot by Barsinister and his overgrown henchman Cad threatens to destroy Capitol City only Underdog can save the day. (Disney)

I couldn't help enjoying this film. Not only was the story pretty fun, but the cgi and animal handling was superb - really top notch. There were one or two plot holes like how for absolutely no reason, our heros girlfriend suddenly appears at the top of a tall building where the bad guy has placed a bomb. Just for no reason - bam, she's there (and needs rescuing). The bad guy was pretty entertaining too and was a competent blend of cartoonish evil and bad actor.

I was never a fan of the original cartoon, but as soon as this came up on the bus I was travelling in I knew I was for a shit time. Live action dogs, cgi'd vocals and that guy from "My name is earl". Gimme a break, or a bus stop.

This movie wasn't that bad. My six year old enjoyed it. I was a little bored by since it is directed more towards kids, it was okay. Nothing really offensive and the dog was cute.

Oh, come ON! What genius Hollywood Executive who's making WAY too damned much money decided that THIS was a good idea? On the other hand, this movie is a good thing ONLY because it caused the UNDERDOG cartoon series to be released on DVD in its original format. FINALLY.

Had a couple of funny moments, but that was really about it. Way too predictable and really didn't seem to take too much from the original idea. Better than most cartoons adapted from the sixties. Patrick Warburton is usually pretty funny in just about anything. Good for the children anyway.
