Good but a few potholes keep it from being excellent.

An exciting film about a train station stakeout and a kidnapping. Holden and Olson are cute together, and Barry Fitzgerald is good this time, keeping the brogue somewhat under control.

Doesn't seem like much at first, but develops into a tight, tense film noir. There's a thick level of brutality here, including a blind girl getting slapped around and what is likely the only instance of someone getting killed by a bull stampede in a noir. The climax involves a beautifully photographed and perfectly crafted chase, and there's a lot of other great scenes. Nice performances from all. The Holden/Olson relationship could've developed more naturally, but it works well enough.
