I remember being entertained and Madelaine Stowe is one of the most underrated actresses in my opinion. And hottest.

I remember Ray Liotta acting batshit and Madeline Stowe fucking hot ass. I rewatched and it is an so so thriller made entertaining by the previous mentioned Liotta and Stowe.

One of those ruthlessly dull "suspense thrillers" that were so popular during the 90s. As usual for these movies, the set-up takes way too long, is predictable, and offers no entertainment whatsoever. When Liotta finally reveals his true colors, we get the typical gun-pointing and overly long, cliched speeches. I like the two main actors, who were at the peak of their powers, and Madeleine Stowe, who was at the peak of her hotness. However, the film is just stupid, boring, and predictable.

So many stereotypes in this film, almost makes it seem like a Spike Lee film. Clever title isn't clever either.

Decent enough thriller that does just enough to keep you interested, but not much more. Liotta's psychotic-cop character starts off well, but by halfway through I was already thinking his behaviour was starting to get a little over-the-top - and then it just keeps ramping further and further up it until it ends up being silly. The last 20 minutes is just ludicrous. Also, Madeleine Stowe is hot, but she has a voice like a foghorn, which is just a tad distracting.

Quite good for its genre. The effectiveness of the film hangs on Liotta's ability to convince us that he's both fixated and a genuine threat, and he does not disappoint. The arc of the film is predictable, but the events aren't altogether, and they throw in some good material that makes for ambivalence about the main characters. The unnecessary Gotcha at the end is really stupid though.
