the direction is exceptionally good - the scenes without or with non-understandable dialogue tell the story in a realy intense way and(!) with 'sfumato', just like the famous Italian art of the fifteenth century (an invention by Da Vinci himself). Very well acted too and the scenery and the nature and the music - yes i loved it!

Hogg does a great job in conveying the feeling of being an outsider at a family vacation and in the portrayal of falling in love secretly. The constant nuanced flirting between lead actress Kathryn Worth and (a young) Tom Hiddleston are very realistic and relatable. Dave Calhoun on TimeOut sums it up well: "Hogg is better at concealing than she is at revealing". The first part of this movie, with concealed, suggestive emotions is better than the last part with the climax and its resolve.

Subtle and acutely observed portrait of an outsider holidaying with an upper middle class family. The still camera lingers on the characters, allowing us to really feel the nuances of their performances - Worth is particularly good.
