For a long time it wasn't possible to see the "Urusei Yatsura" series here in the US without spending stupid amounts of money. I'm not sure it isn't still. This movie is really good anyway even if you've just seen a handful of the show's episodes

The narration lays plot points on a bit too thick but I still really enjoyed this - in its humor [even when it goes overboard] and the deeper areas.

Oshii's overlooked masterpiece. It is the second feature movie of one of the cheesiest anime series, so seems ambigious with usual Oshii elements. But after a while plot takes off and delves imaginatively into sub science fiction realities which all makes sense with the conclusion.
