Decent noir-tinged western that takes its cues from Rashomon, exploring three different versions of the same situation from three different points of view. Unfortunately the ending removes any of the ambiguity that had built up until then by presenting the "definitive" version of the truth - which is kind of disappointing. Hayden does a great job of alternating between moody brute and tortured cuckold, depending on whose story is being told.

It never quite lives up to the pitch-perfect opening scene, but it's a nice and mature western with some great photography and a unique perspective.
