Summary: One of the twin sons of a family gets stolen during a train journey, after which the child grows up in another family as the son of a childless couple, as Vetrivel aka Vel (Surya). Meanwhile the other kid grows up to be a private detective, Vasudevan (Surya). Vasudevan's girlfriend Swathi (Asin) runs across Vel & informs Vasudevan about him. After Vel & Vasudevan realize that they are brothers, they decide to switch places, & Vasudevan takes on Vel's arch rival Sakkara Pandi (Kalabhavan Mani).
