Charming musical about cross-dressing in the great Broadway fashion.

Ahead of its time and a real twist on the cross dressing theme. A charming musical very much of the 80's. Some may find parts non-PC now but really..get over it. Some brilliant performances particularly from Andrews and Preston. A quirky and decent musical - some of the songs wont leave your mind easily.

A quite entertaining movie, and andrews looks absolutely amazing into her late 40's. It's a failure at comedy, but as a musical/romance it is excellent. This film builds up from the beginning and keeps on building 'til the last twenty minutes where it peters off into some simply boring, badly made film.

Exceptionally funny with a great cast. Loved the roach scene in the restaurant. Highly recommended.

Good gender-bender with superior work by Andrews, Garner and especially Preston.

A romantic comedy musical that doesn't really excel at any of these aspects but puts on a good show regardless.

Gender rollercoaster. One of Blake Edwards' finer efforts, this musical comedy is a bit old-fashioned in style but suitably raunchy for 1982. It has some good laughs, great Henry Mancini music, and stellar performances from everyone in the cast. It does suffer a bit from being overlong.

An enjoyable film by Blake Edwards. The scenes with Graham Stark vaguely remind me of "The Pink Panther" series - actually, the entire film is pervaded with an unspecified "Pink Panther" aura, and probably that's what's so good about it.

Somewhat surprising that Victor/Victoria was a mainstream, successful movie considering its subject matter. Strong performances from the cast. I didn't really care for the songs, but it's a good movie.

Decent attempt at romance, decent attempt at comedy, decent attempt at being a musical. Overall, just decent with some of the best performances ever compiled into one movie. Too bad everything else is just...decent.

Somehow puts a twist to drag - while capturing its rebellious and raucous spirit before the movement was largely commodified. I appreciate how it keeps my "modern" sensibilities in check - it's never mean-spirited because there's never a mean bone (...) in its body. Robert Preston's generous performance is proof. It loses its way in the middle, but when it's focused, it's a near-classic.

A messy, overlong film that engages with broad, bold ideas and hobbles itself with tone-deaf cowardice. In the 21st century, little is left to be loved in this lumpy relic from the primordial days of queer Hollywood representation.

To just regale this fun film with just "I'll sleep with you for a meatball" means i'm leaving out how sweet, fabulous and queer this is. Everyone shines, especially Andrews and Preston, and Leslie Ann Warren chews up her scenes like nobody's business. It's a fun romp everyone should experience

It's an admirable film in many ways, with it's heart clearly in the right place. A lot of the focus of the film is how much better off we would be if we worried a lot less about other people's sexuality and let people be. But ultimately, the film ends up siding with Garner's homophobia by suggesting it's a great thing for Andrews to be able to stop pretending to be a man because now she can date Garner without him having to worry about seeming gay.

Fun that's rather naïve and slightly cynical at the same time. Worthwhile for Robert Preston's drag scenes alone.

While this does end a little *too* neatly, it is remarkable to see a film like this in 1982. Also, reading that Blake Edwards also directed most of the Pink Panther films makes sense, because there were a few scenes that felt like they could have taken place in those films.
