Sometimes it almost seems like Wake Wood is getting a little creepy, but that always gets spoiled by an off-the-shelf splatter scene, and in the end there's nothing here that wasn't already done simpler in Pet Sematary.

Did you see The Resident last year, the first Hammer Horror film in decades? It wasn't really a Hammer film, was it? This, however, is more like it. A 30-something couple mourning the death of their young daughter move to a remote village to start anew, and soon discover that the rustic Emmerdale-tweed-and-sideburns villagers harbour a Dark Secret... they can bring the dead back to life. But only for three days. Mist on the moor, creeping unease, ye olde magick, and BLOOD. Welcome back, Hammer.

An interesting twist on the typical horror movie. The modernization of ancient ritual techniques was quite clever. Unfortunately, the plot was kind of weak, and the ending was ridiculous considering what had happened to the townspeople up until then.

This dreamlike Irish reimagining of Pet Sematary, courtesy of Hammer Horror, ties together a number of the genre tropes--the evil child, cattle mutilation and black magic chief among them--in a new and involving way. Just shy of great, but it's like nothing I've seen before.

A toughtful film with great attention to detail in certain parts, especially the details of the rituals. Some really great performances too, especially from the little girl

Really interesting! Timothy Spall is, as always, amazing. The ending was a little too predictable though.
