Summary: America loves Cox! But behind the singer/songwriter's music is the up-and-down-and-up-again story of a musician whose songs would change a nation. On his rock-and-roll spiral, Cox sleeps with 411 women, marries three times, has 22 kids and 14 stepkids, stars in his own '70s TV show, collects friends ranging from Elvis to the Beatles to a chimp, and gets addicted to--and then kicks--every drug known to humankind...but despite it all, Cox grows into a national icon. This movie was the comedy version of Walk the Line. There was alot to like in the movie...like how Dewey got hooked on drugs or how his brother died. But, after the hour mark the movie seemed to lose steam...it was like the well ran dry for the last part of the movie..all in all not the worst movie but definately worth the watch

John C. Reilly is golden, as usual, but the film itself is somewhat drawn out. I would recommend seeing it at least once, especially if you're a fan of Reilly's comedic works, but it's not something that warrants repeat viewing.

I love John C. Reily and anyone who is or was at one time a student of comedy will laugh every time they purposely break one of the rules in this movie. Decent satire, the music was pretty great, the freaking Beatles were awesome, and I loved Jenna Fischer she really looked like she was having fun. I could watch Reily rip sinks out of the wall for a long time and still keep laughing. Got a slightly mediocre score from me due to a lot of flatline jokes. Still great fun though.
