The focus on atmosphere made this otherwise average 60's sci-fi'er Feel a lot like a Hammer production (that's a good thing).

This movie was very cheaply made, and it shows, but the story itself is exciting enough to keep you watching, and you've got Vincent Price in the movie too. I enjoyed watching this even though it is says it is supposed to be based on an Edgar Allen Poe poem, which it clearly isn't. It is a lot like the other Poe based movies that came out at the time, but it's more of a sci-fi adventure movie. It's fun.
