Summary: Spruced up adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's epic novel about the life of a Russian family during the War of 1812. Nas devidas proporções, é um filme correto e uma adaptação fiell à obra de Tolstói. Audrey Hepburn caiu como uma luva no papel da princesa Natasha enquanto Henry Fonda interpetra convicentemente o pertubado Pedro Bozukhov. King Vidor prioriza nitidamente as cenas das relações aristocráticas em detrimento às partes de batalhas; atitude compressível, pois uma escolha era necessária em virtude da extensão da obra. Ponto negativo contudente: franceses e russos falando inglês com sotaque fake.

200 Minutes is a long time, especially if the film is not that interesting. Young Audrey Hepburn in colour, that's what got me through it.
