Bette Davis gives an absolutely agonizingly cynic performance. She is so full of darkness and you can see her slowly get crazier until the final and climactic beach scene. The film is impeccably shot and I really loved the first hour more than the second. It is sort of long but overall this is a very scary and stranger horror that should not be missed

formally, this has aged a bit worse than the other classics of 60s horror, the filming and sound design done very much in a studio system style, but Bette Davis's performance is pretty incredible, every bit as unsettling as Gloria Swanson in Sunset Blvd, though the screenplay of this is not quite as outstanding. worth the watch simply because Jane Hudson is such an iconic figure in feminine insanity.

There's a lot about this movie that I don't like. It's essentially Sunset Boulevard + Psycho on crack (with a dash of All About Eve, of course), and Davis' makeup and over-the-top performance often teeters into goofiness. This said, Baby Jane is oddly compelling throughout and sometimes rather disturbing which more than kept me captivated for it's 2+ hr running time.

Um desagradável espetáculo de maus-tratos amalgamado com um humor negro autorreferente e autodepreciativo, promovendo risinhos nervosos e baixa tensão. Assim, mesmo sendo um autêntico clássico camp, não há de agradar a todos.

Outstanding suspense/horror with two of the finest actresses ever---Crawford and Davis. Their performances here are amazing, especially Davis as she plays an elderly former child star in a devastasting decent into madness. A must see for classic horror lovers.

May be the most UNintentionally hilarious Hollywood star vehicle ever made. Over-the-top is an understatement as the 2 leads play ridiculous extremes:Crawford a long- suffering & laughably helpless martyr & Davis barn-storming through a role that'll sear itself into ur brain as the personification of diva bitterness.Although she's supposed 2 b the villain, her character's irritablity& indomitable refusal 2 admit she's lost it make u almost want 2 root 4 her instead of her whinily grating sister.

The 60s was arguably the golden age for horror films along with the 50s. What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? corroborates that with its evocative acting, tight plot and portentous ominousness. Bette Davis is malignantly and inimically great. A true horror classic.

Fantastic thriller with phenomenal performances by Joan Crawford and especially Bette Davis, who plays a really creepy, insane and tragic character. Other than the acting, the film is beautifully shot, really suspenseful and contains many memorable scenes. The film is like a darker, more suspenseful version of Sunset Blvd.

WHTBJ is well worth checking out. Both Crawford and Davis are excellent as two elderly sisters. One wheelchair bound and dependant on the other sister who's completely crazy. It's hard not to focus on Davis as the loopy Baby Jane,as her performance is so over the top in contrast to Crawford's down trodden Blanche. I couldn't help but notice Edwin Flagg's mother's terrible Cockney accent, she should be standing proudly next to Dick Van Dyke for worst recorded on celluloid.
