Even campier and quite a bit darker than later Almodovar, almost like a better Todd Solondz. Slightly less colorful, maybe even somewhat depressing. Still very amusing though

One of his MOST underrated movies!! Often damned by the criticks, Almodovar created a satirical and black comedy with an awesome Carmen Maura who shows her hole potencial. Almodovar spreads sideblows in all directions... ( what does emanciaption means when a wife get´s treated like a dog by her husband ?? ) great Movie. Use your brain and think about it..besides all seriousness "what have I done to deserve this" offers enough moments to laugh.

Absolutely watchable, just not on par with Almodovar's later fores into melodrama and desire. The relationship between Maura's mother and her son is ridiculously charming and borderline inappropriate (does she pimp her son out to the creepy dentist?!), a fascinating combination.
