Decent thriller which is more than a little bit terrifying at points. I recall being quite shaken up on my way back from the theater. Definitely creepy with an interesting switch of character for Ford.

Try as they might (particularly with the score), this could never be anything like Hitchcock, especially given the supernatural goings on. Nevertheless there are some moments of genuine suspense and I thought Pfeiffer was actually quite good. Not worth another watch, but definitely not a total waste of time.

Follows the common formula for these films of slow build up, red herrings, and oblique mystery all leading up to a twist that turns the tables and begins a mad dash towards the finale. It does it reasonably well and while it's not something memorable it does effect a reaction while watching.

Effective and visually interesting homage to Hitchcock (unlike most De Palma movies), but also the best example on how the PR department can fuck a movie over: The theatrical trailer gives away so much plot, that it almost renders the first half useless.
