Summary: Mild-mannered Elmer (Keaton) and gregarious Jimmy (Durante) are two simple men who are duped by a confidence woman (Phyllis Barry) and an underworld boss (John Miljan). Elmer and Jimmy reactivate an abandoned brewery, in anticipation of the repeal of Prohibition. Their success prompts the crooks to get tough, but Elmer foils them with a truckload of beer barrels. keaton was in a real bad way here, you can literally see him shaking in more than one scene, that's not to mention the slurred speech. even at an all time low he's still funnier than durante, i'm starting to have a strong distaste for that guy.

Keaton's last film for MGM and his last starring role in America. It's sad to watch this film, because once great star of silent films is at his lowest point. All through the film he's either visibly drunk or hungover. The subject of the film makes it kind of ironic. Even with Buster in top form this film wouldn't have been much fun. It feels like a product of uncreative never stopping conveyer.
